General RV Awarded 2025 “Retail Project of the Year” by The AGC of Utah
Eckman Construction is honored to receive The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Utah’s 2025 “Retail Project of the Year” Award for the General RV Supercenter. At 65,000-SF and located on 18 acres of land in South Weber, Utah, Eckman Construction completed the project earlier this year. The new Supercenter houses the operation for the sales and service of a variety of travel trailers, fifth wheelers, and motorhomes.
An Award Centered on Value
AGC of Utah represents more than 660 member firms and unites the commercial construction community to build stronger businesses, safer job sites, and a better Utah. Their annual awards select projects that uphold the AGC values: Skill, Integrity, and Responsibility. With over 100 award submissions for 2025, only a little over a third were chosen, celebrating projects, companies, and individuals for their achievements and excellence.
With a mission to lead and unite Utah’s construction community through advocacy, education, and resources, The AGC of Utah’s awards aim to recognize the projects, people, and firms that raise the standard in commercial construction. The “Retail Project of the Year” Award for 2025 demands safety, innovation, teamwork, contribution to the community and industry, function, craftsmanship, and quality.
Eckman’s Work on the General RV Supercenter
The General RV project included 30 service bays and a body shop in addition to a 17,612-SF sales and showroom area with offices for sales, financing, parts, and general management. Eckman managed construction of the building and all site-work for the new facility, constructed of precast concrete panels.
Eckman’s teams self-performed all concrete work on the General RV project, including the largest continuous warehouse footings in the state of Utah. At a range of 4′–8′ wide and 30″ deep, 8′–10′ wide and 36″ deep to 12′ wide and 48″ deep, this massive foundation served as support for the careful erection of the insulated concrete tilt-up panels that formed the Supercenter walls.
For General RV Center, the nation’s largest family-owned RV dealer, the new South Weber location represents their 15th Supercenter in the U.S. Upon viewing the finished project, the client especially appreciated the polished concrete floors. Though the building primarily delivers in function, the expert techniques in construction provided an open, sophisticated space for General RV to both display and service—on floors that match their professional work and quality. Its clean, industrial aesthetics complemented the client’s vision, and the craftmanship of its results ensures enduring quality in the services the client provides.
