Eckman Construction’s Preconstruction team begins every project in Utah and Idaho with the end in mind. We believe that successful projects resolve challenges prior to construction.

Our team works as a partner to our clients and their design teams to ensure projects that are safe, on budget, and on schedule. Our value-added services will reduce project risks, remove many of the unknowns of a project, and identify areas for cost savings.

 

Eckman Construction offers the following preconstruction services:

 

Preliminary Planning and Design Review (Constructability Reviews)

  • The design process is an exciting phase of the project. Our team will review the current plans and advise on constructability issues that could result in unanticipated costs or schedule delays.

Scheduling and Phase Planning (System Analysis and Logistics Planning)

  • Having a realistic schedule is one of the most important tools for the project owner to make important financial decisions. We will use our experience and expertise to accurately determine milestones for coordinating the many phases of construction.

Cost Estimating and Value Engineering

  • Contract documents are assembled for each specific scope of work and solicited to our many trade partners for pricing. We evaluate all bids and verify their scope of work to ensure we have accurately captured all work to be performed at the best value to our client. When requested, we find alternates to reduce the cost of the project to fit within the client’s budget.

Material Procurement (Procurement Strategy)

  • We understand today’s supply-chain challenges and long lead times for materials. We advise our client and design team on early order arrangements to mitigate delays to the project. Early tracking logs are structured within the design phase.

Subcontractor Prequalification and Selection

  • We vet our subcontractors based on their past performance, financial strength, insurance coverage, safety records, and workforce availability.
