Eckman Construction’s involvement in the Hunter Douglas Tenant Improvement project was crucial, as we provided a wide range of services to create a functional and polished interior space. The new space consisted for a new breakroom and 10 additional office spaces. This addition was important for Hunter Douglas’ factory operations and administrative staff, providing a functional and comfortable environment to meet their needs.

The precise installation of drywall and metal stud framing was a notable accomplishment, creating walls, partitions, and structural elements for the new breakroom and corporate offices. The HVAC installation ensured optimal indoor comfort and air quality, while the concrete work involved pouring and finishing concrete slabs for the flooring. Interior finishing services, such as flooring installation and painting, helped create a polished appearance.

One of the highlights of the project was the installation of a new roof top unit for the breakroom, which would provide efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. However, a major challenge during the construction phase was strict dust control due to the Hunter Douglas team’s valuable inventory. Eckman Construction addressed this challenge by working closely with TID demolition to construct a detailed dust control system, including sticky mats at door entrances, plastic screens attached to steel decking, and zipper entrances around the construction zones. This resulted in zero dust escape into the factory area during construction, meeting the client’s expectations and providing extra care for dust control requirements.
