Eckman Construction Expands Services to Idaho
As a full-service commercial construction company, Eckman announces plans to expand operations in Idaho. Since 2000, Eckman has been working on projects in Idaho, including construction of the Sportsman Warehouse locations in Meridian and Idaho Falls.
Steve Anderson, manager of Eckman’s Idaho division, points to the driving force behind the decision to expand. “It is amazing how much the Salt Lake City and Boise markets mirror each other. With several team trade partners working in the Boise area expanding our general contracting services into southern Idaho to help clients was an organic transition”, Anderson said.
Currently, Eckman is completing construction for the new Mister Carwash located at 675 S Progress Ave. in Meridian, Idaho. Construction began September 5, 2023 and will be complete in May of this year. The project is on-schedule and Eckman’s pro-active approach to problem solving has reduced the number of change orders, maintaining scheduled milestones, and has saved the client 11% of the construction budget to date, according to Anderson.
In a January 2024 report by AGC Idaho, annual construction in Idaho is currently a $6.5 billion market, with $4.7 billion in the non-residential sector. For 2024, the report projects increased growth in manufacturing, transportation, utilities, and public works; with markets holding steady in office, retail, multi-family, and residential sectors. “The rapid growth in Boise has brought large corporate general contractors into the area which fills more of a cookie cutter approach,” said Anderson. He continued, “For projects and clients which require a custom approach, high-degree of professionalism, or are under unique restraints, Eckman delivers a high level of individualized custom service, critical thinking skills, and financially sound solutions.”
